The deadline for public sector organisations in the UK to make their existing websites fully accessible is around the corner.

Around a third of disabled people in the UK experience difficulties in accessing public, commercial and leisure goods and services, but at least some of that is set to change by 23rd September. This is the deadline by when all websites managed by public organisations in the UK will have to be fully accessible. This will include not only making their platforms inclusive, but also publishing accessibility statements, explaining how accessible their websites are.

And that’s not all: the new regulations will extend to all public mobile applications by 23rd June 2021.

What the government is hinting at is: accessibility requirements are no longer a ‘nice to have’, but should be seen as a priority and an absolute necessity for all businesses and organisations in the long run. …
