11 influential women changing UX and technology for the better
A list inspired by International Women’s Day + Women’s History Month 2020.
This year we decided to do something a bit different to celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month 2020, inspired by 11 amazing women making a mark in UX, user research and accessibility.
During the first eight days of March, we shared the achievements of these women — some of them professionals we’ve worked with and some experts we’ve had the honour to hear from at conferences across the UK — , closing the list on International Women’s Day.
Candi Williams, Efi Chatzopoulou & Amy Mcguinness
These three women are the life force behind Ladies That UX Bristol, a worldwide community of women working in the user experience industry and putting together local events to share knowledge and their professional experiences.
- Candi Williams is a content design manager at Nationwide. She is also a published author behind titles such as Iconic Women of Colour.

Not only is Molly a usability and accessibility consultant, currently working as part of the Sigma team, she is also an ambassador and advocate of the Molly Watt Trust and ReSound. Molly is also a seasoned speaker, having talked at events like TEDxNHS in 2018.

We celebrated ajara i. pfannenschmidt on the sixth day of our Twitter celebration. Ajara is a digital craftswoman, speaker and UX consultant working to make technology and the digital world more diverse. She is also a well-known speaker and a lecture at Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg.
